Was browsing through some viral videos (videos that are so good they spread like viruses) and came across
this clip. It's amazing what one man can do to change society. Notice how stiff and unfriendly people in the clip are at first, and how free hugs change them. I think a place like Singapore could really use some free hugs. Anyone?
Its been a month and no one respnded to this FREE HUGS idea.
ReplyDeleteBut really Gilbert, as I mentioned to you once, many a times when we met after a very long time apart and away, even though a hug is such a casual thing here that I hugged so many people, I'm not as closed compare to friends back home, its just a strange thing to do back home. DO you think you can even hug your friends before reahing out to strangers, really?
Yea, thanks for breaking the silence.
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess it's just the difference in culture that we're experiencing. I mean, Europeans are more expressive of their affections while we Asians keep everything to ourselves.
Hugs should not be culture shocks. In fact, I hug almost everybody in church. Nothing wrong with that. When you hug somebody, you are affirming them of your presence, letting them know that you are there and that they are not strangers to you.
That's good, right? A world without strangers. Ideally speaking...
